Jim’s Story

Hello I am Skip with Freedom Builders, when I first met Jim I soon began to think about Paul while he was in prison, because he found contentment in all things and that is what you see in Jim soon after you get to know him.

Jim’s 63 years on this earth have not been an easy; his life has been made up of a series of tragic events. He has been legally blind due to a work related injury for over 30 years and since that time has been living in a small northern Michigan community in a home that is in a state of disrepair. Several years ago Jim was hit by a car while he was crossing the road, the accident messed Jim up badly, with broken ribs, a bad knee injury and a closed head injury as well.

All of this to say that Jim has a least something to complain about, but he doesn’t, instead Jim finds joy in the people around him.

When I arrived to set up scaffolding to begin the project, I found Jim sitting in the yard pulling weeds; you see Jim even found Joy in the Weeds of his life. I know my life would not have been as blessed had I not met my good friend Jim.
