The permanent answer to the severe housing problem, as well as the problem of needing to learn new decision making skills, is that of a new and very different type of housing development. It is more than just a clean, affordable home. This is a place where lives will be affected in such a positive way that in each home, success in life will become the norm. The generational spiral downward ceases. This is a place where hope is restored, families are reconciled, and future generations achieve well-being and financial freedom.

The development will be able to be home to 50 families and will be made up of townhouse style units, not the typical apartment row. This will be a place of many generations allowing younger families to draw upon the wisdom and experience of seniors, and the seniors to gain from the vitality of the young people. The development would also allow for the privacy of seniors and provide them places of tranquillity as well.

The central area of the development will be the outreach center. In the outreach center will be a daycare facility where costs can be minimized by exchanging hours of work for services rendered. The staff will provide information to improve healthcare, nutrition, parenting skills and safety. On site staff will be responsible to assist with the needs of the tenants and help them finding community resources.

The most exciting aspect of the project is the concept of Team Mentoring through multiple area churches. Mentoring curriculum would include financial and budgetary counselling as well as life skills management and self-improvement. This mentoring accomplishes several goals. First teaching and modeling the skills that help the client begin to respond to life challenges in a more skilled or healthy way. Secondly each client develops personal confidence and self esteem. Most importantly developing relationships that model love, compassion and acceptance increases the clients understanding of their personal worth and ability to contribute to society. Ultimate importance comes as each one grasps how important they are to God and to what extent He loves them.
 

Project Description
We will begin by creating housing that defies the typical warehouse for people image seen to often in our communities. This will be a place you are proud to call home, a place where folks are blessed to invite families and friends. The development will be able to be home to 50 families and be made up of four-plex style townhouses and not apartment row. It will be built within the service area of reliable public transportation. The surrounding area will be beautifully landscaped and include areas for exercise, recreation and play. As well as being state of the art efficient they will be great looking. Each unit will be approximately 850 to 1000 square feet.
