Carol’s Story
Once in a while
God allows us a chance to serve him by serving others. In Mica
6:8 we are told that the Lord requires of us at act justly,
love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. Carol is a single
mom that needs such justice and mercy. Carol is a recently
divorced mom, with more on her plate than one person can be
asked to carry. She was physically abused by her ex-husband
and to make matters worse she and her two sons were in need of
a place to stay as her ex-husband was able to keep their home.
Carol was able to find an old farm house that had not been
live in for some time and was in desperate need of repair. She
lived in a small community where she felt as though everyone
picked sides where she was either the martyr or the villain,
because she took her children from her husband, even though
she did that for what she believed to be for their protection.
When freedom
Builders got to the home we found that there had only been a
space heater in the 2 story old farm home. Without a furnace
and missing many storm windows and with very minimal
insulation we knew that we had our work cut out for us. With
no furnaces on hand and no funds to buy one Carol wanted to
know what we could do, we said pray. With that we began to
pray for the resources we needed. 3 days later we received a
call from a local propane supplier wanting to know if we had a
need for a furnace. With that Carol wanted to know how we were
going to install it since we had no leads on a qualified
installer, we said pray. 3 days later we received a call from
a potential volunteer when asked what he did for a living he
indicated that he owned his own heating and cooling company.
If you ever doubt whether God hears prayers listen closer.
That godly man took a crew and paid them and in one day put a
furnace where none had ever been. We next needed a crew to do
insulation and drywall work and what did we get but another
call from a body of Gods people that wanted to assist.
Carol who had been
doubting her own value and how much she was loved was
beginning to get a glimpse of God’s unending love for her.
